INTERNET RADIO  -- Many of you may not have the blessing of a good Southern Radio to tune into. So let me offer you a Brand New option.   .Check out Live 365.com,  which is collection of thousands of internet radio stations.  I signed up, at no Cost,  and have access to hundreds of Gospel radio options including almost 50 southern gospel stations , One feature I'm quite fond of is the chance for each listener to influence the play list by giving a thumbs up or a thumbsdown to each song ).   Please check it out,  and don't forget to give a couple of "big thumbs up" whenever you hear a PLQ song......I have found several favorite stations that play exactly the type of music that I love !  The Progressive sounds of today's SG artists, Check out  "Heavenly Tracks", "SGM Revival", or "SG (SSE)" .  Of course there are stations that play classic and vintage  SG of the past, some play quartets only of the past and present, others will include bluegrass and inspirational. Regardless of what you like, you're sure to find something for your particular taste.
I became aware of LIVE 365 and internet radio through contact with Mr.Ken Weaver. He is a big fan of Southern Gospel Male Quartet Singing, but was unable to travel while caring for his invalid wife at home. When the Lord opened the door for him to attend his first live concert in over 10 years, and while listening to The Gold City and Triumphant Quartets, Ken felt impressed to help spread this exciting type of musical ministry, and committed himself to creating a Southern Gospel All Male Quartet Radio station. The Music quality is great and he plays a  mix of today's best and yesterday's classics.   Ken's prayer: "Thank you God that I can hear, for electricty to run CD players, for music servers, for the internet, for Southern Style Gospel Music, for the variety in the human voice, for the very low bass, the very high tenor, and for the many quartet groups. Thank You God for quartet music. Father God, you know I just love this kind of music. Help me do the best I can to put such good music over the internet. May this music bless many people and bring the sinner unto repentance. ..Amen"
Recently I met another Ken, who was inspired by Mr. Weaver to promote SG Music on the internet. Ken Barnes hosts my personal Favorite Live 365 station -- "SG at it's Best", and not just becuase he will be adding PLQ to the mix soon !. ....JOEY

"KIDS" on Angels

I only know the names of two angels - Hark and Harold.        Gregory, 5

. Angels don't wear halos anymore. I forget why, but scientists are working on it.  Olive, 9

It's not easy to become an angel! First, you die. Then you go to heaven, & then there's still the flight training to go thru. Then you got to agree to wear those angel clothes.     Matthew, 9

Angels work for God and watch over kids when He has to go do something else.        Mitchell, 7

My guardian angel helps me with math, but he's not much good for science.      Henry, 8

Angels don't eat, but they drink milk from Holy Cows !       Jack, 6

Angels talk all the way while they're flying you up to heaven. The main subject is where you went wrong before you got dead.    Daniel, 9

When an angel gets mad, he takes a deep breath & counts to ten. & when he it out, somewhere there's a tornado.   Reagan, 10

Angels keep very busy. If you lose a tooth, an angel comes in through your window & leaves money under your pillow. Then when it gets cold, angels go north for the winter.     Sara, 6

Angels live in cloud houses made by God & his son, who's a very good carpenter.  Jared, 8

All angels are girls because they gotta wear dresses & boys didn't go for that at all. Antonio, 9

What I don't get about angels is why, when someone is in love, they shoot arrows at them.

What a Weekend !! We set off at dawn on the Friday before Labor Day (2009)  for Kentucky not knowing what momentous events were instore. Shortly into the trip, Kevin recieved a call from his wife, advising that their pregnant and 2 week overdue daughter, Tiffany, was headed to the hospital, to have labor induced !  Hours later, as we still travelled, the News arrived : He was now a Grandpa for the first time ! Ayla Ann Williams was born at 2:57pm, weighing 6.2 pounds, and measuring 18" in length. He was still grinnin' as we arrived in Crab Orchard Kentucky.
That night, the concert went well, and Pastor Zandall Hastey, warmed up to us enough to offer a special treat, we were going to get our first taste of "Coon Hunters'" cake. In fact he ambushed me as I entered the fellowship hall with a big mouthfull. I learned later that no racoons were harmed in the creation of this desert.
After the service we were escorted even farther out in the country, and then after loaning  us an SUV (the bus couldn't get there), we were escorted to our lodging for the weekend,  an authentic Log cabin high on a hillside. Gene assured us that with his amazing, innate sense of direction, we would not need further escorts. Early the next morning,  He and Ed headed back to town to find some breakfast, leaving us non-breakfast eaters behind. Unfortunately neither noticed the address or even name (the Horse and Buggy Inn), and found they couldn't relocate the inn, not even with the help of the locals. Without cellphone service, we had no idea where they were, I was getting hungry and imagining the worst.  Lunch came and went, (I was forced to munch on stale cereal bars and grasshoppers), and finally, five hours later, The duo sheepishly walked back into the cabin. Luckily I had done some research and found a lovely restuarant only 2 miles down the road !!
And Finally on Sunday the 6th we helped Gene Celebrate his birthday (45!!) with a mexican fiesta. With a bit of time before the evening concert, he was able to spend an hour doing one of his favorite pasttimes, a little fishin' !.
Special thanks to my adopted brother , CHAD TYNER , for his hospitality and hard work in booking a truly memorable and fun filled weekend.
January 2010 -  The PLQ Family continues to grow as Joe and Lori Brinkley would like to announce that they are now expecting their first Child !!!
What a year for the Joe; married, purchased their first home, moved to West Virginia. and now a baby on the way. Of course Gene, Kevin, and Joey have been very helpful in offering baby names to consider, though Joe seems to be less than enthusiastic about their  ideas.  Be sure to add them to your prayer list.
